Membership Benefits

Membership includes:

A copy of all current editions of our quarterly Society magazine Voices from the Vaults. (Click the title to see a sample copy.)

Invitations to attend all main Society meetings (five each year) plus any occasional one-off events such as Library Evenings. Also invitations to the annual Bram Stoker Birthday Dinner in November, and our pre-Christmas social evening in December.

Invitations to participate in all Society trips within the United Kingdom and abroad.

Membership of our e-mail information group, which provides occasional information about non-Society events which may be of interest.

Upcoming scheduled Society events are listed here.

Society membership subscription years are always considered to be calendar years, January 1st to December 31st.

Members who join during the year before September 1st will need to renew at the end of that year. However members who join after September 1st will not need to renew until the end of the following year, and can thus gain up to sixteen months membership in their first year.

The cost of membership is £22 per calendar year for UK resident individuals, with a joint UK membership option of £36 for two UK members who are resident at the same UK postal address.

The cost of individual only non-UK membership is £28.

To apply to join the Dracula Society online, if you have a debit card, credit card or a PayPal account, please fill in and submit

an online membership application form and pay the appropriate fee through PayPal. A PayPal account is not needed for card payments.

To apply to join us by post, you will need to print out and fill in a postal application form, and send it to us with the appropriate membership fee.

Note that prospective members must be over the age of 18.

Subscription renewal reminders are sent out to all members with the booking details for the first meeting of the year.

If the subscription renewal fee is not received, one further mailing will be sent with a further reminder. If there is no response after that it will be assumed that the subscription is no longer required.

Our annual membership fee only covers the maintenance of this site, the production and distribution of our magazine, and the costs of advertising our events to members. All Society events are self financing, and are not subsidised from the membership fee.

Members are encouraged to participate on the Society's social media platforms, but please be aware that it is a condition of continued membership that members should not make derogatory comments about fellow members or any Society activity, on any social media or public forums, that bring the Society into disrepute or reflect negatively upon it or any member.

We expect all Society members to behave civilly, and resolve any grievances directly with the Society Committee. Agreeing to this is a condition of membership, and failure to do so may result in your membership being terminated.

Our membership records are kept in manual and electronic format and they can only be accessed by the Membership Secretary, the Society Chair, and the Webmaster. Your data, which includes your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address, will only be used for the purposes of mailing you information relating to Society events and activities, and other genre-related information which may be of interest to you.

It will never be given to third parties nor used for any activity not related to the Dracula Society.
