To commemorate the Dracula Society's 30th anniversary in 2003, our very first weekend Convention (we're planning another for 2013!) was held from Friday 31st October to Sunday 2nd November at The Royal Victoria and Bull Hotel in Rochester, Kent.

The weekend began at 8.00pm on Friday evening in the Great Expectations Bar of the Hotel, with a special Hallowe'en welcome event.

Saturday was a full day of talks with guest speakers, film and video screenings, dramatised stories and a panel discussion. There were book stalls and other Gothic merchandise on offer throughout the day. Saturday evening was the Society's grand night of the year, when we celebrated Bram Stoker's birthday (a little early!) with our customary Dinner, followed by a Masked Ball!

Sunday morning's programme included an Auction, and the presentation of the Society's Awards and other prizes, finishing at around 1pm.

The BBC website conducted interviews with some of the attendees at the Convention, for inclusion in an interview montage of vampire aficionados. Watch here.

See if you can guess which of the interviewees are Dracula Society members!
